Eve Destroys Them at Goulburn
Having her second start for the stable, Eve of Destruction won in a Benchmark 60 over 1300m at Goulburn. She was slow early and trailed the leading group to the 600m. Jeff Penza started moving her forward and she went around the field on the turn. Finishing very strongly, she hit the lead at the 200m and held on well to win convincingly by a length at very lucrative odds.

Dramatising win at Queanbeyan
Having her first start for the stable, Dramatising won a 1100m Maiden at Queanbeyan. She was urged away from her inside barrier and settled just behind the leading pack. Richard Bensley started working her forward out wide approaching the turn and she finished strongly to grab the lead in the last 50m and win by a neck. Pray to God at Canberra
Pray To God made it three wins from five starts in winning a Benchmark 65 1000m at Canberra. Jumping from a wide barrier she was able to cross the field and lob one out and one back. Brendon Ward worked her up to challenge on the turn and she finished very powerfully down the outside to win by a neck. A great start to her career for a horse bought as a brood mare and more wins look in store.

Fox In The Rye at Braidwood
In the Rye and The Red Fox completed an early double at the annual Braidwod race meeting. Having her third race start, In the Rye won the 1600m Maiden in convincing fashion. She was slow early and caught wide but Richard Bensley gradually worked her up until she was outside the leader approaching the turn. Striding to the lead on straighening she held on well to win by a length.
The Red Fox completed the double with a win in a Benchmark 53 1600m. Slowly away as usual from his rails barrier, Richard Bensley eased him away from the fence in the running and had him just behind the leaders approaching the turn. Finishing out wide, Fox ran home strongly to grab the lead in the shadows of the post and win by a head.
A pleasant surprise on a great day of country racing.

Canberra Double
The stable had a double at Canberra when The Cat Walk Star won a Benchmark 65 1600m and Cockles'n'Mussels a Benchmark 60 1400m. The Cat Walk Star jumped and travelled just behind the leaders to the turn where Brendon Ward allowed her to stroll up to the lead. She soon asserted her superiority and finished very strongly under hands and heels to win by three lengths. The win continues her good form with four wins from the last six starts.
From her usual wide barrier, Cockle'n'Mussels travelled three wide just off the lead to the turn where Brendon Ward worked her up to challenge. She finished powerfully to win running away by three lengths. This highly promising daughter of Street Cry has now had two wins and and unlucky second from three starts and should go on to better things.

Four Wins at Wagga
The stable had its first quadrella with four wins on a seven race TAB programme at Wagga. All winners were ridden by Brendon Ward who racked up five winners on the day.
Cockles'n'Mussels made up for an unlucky first start second when she won convincingly in a 1200m Maiden. From her wide barrier, she was again caught three wide just behind the leaders to the turn. Brendon pulled her out wide on straightening where, although a little green, she powered home very strongly to win by a length. This daughter of Street Cry shows considerable promise.
Celero was the first of a Triple Crown Syndications Double when he won a Class 2 1000m. He travelled just behing the leaders to the turn where he started to move up although spotting the leader five lengths. He finished very strongly and despite being severely hampered by the second horse and being carried out to the outside rail he hung on to win by a neck. Dragon Dance provided the second Triple Crown winner in a Benchmark 64 1800m. He travelled one out and one back to the 600m where he strolled up to the lead on the turn. Despite being left in front down the long straight he finished strongly to win by a length. A great thrill for the group of owners who saw him race for the first time. Both horses were having their first starts with the stable.
Showing his great like for the Wagga track, Swashknuckler redeemded his unclucky second last start when he saluted in the Benchmark 55 1200m. He travelled nicely just behind the leaders and worked into the race in the straight. He finished very strongly to win in a head bob on the line. He has now won three races at Wagga and is going very well this preparation after his long injury lay off.

The Cat Pounces at Canberra
The Catwalk Star made it three wins from six starts with the stable when she blitzed the field in a Benchmark 65 1400m at Canberra. She showed uncharacteristic tow at the start but soon settled mid field. Jeff Penza moved her out at the turn where she ran to the lead and continued to draw away to win by six lengths easing down on the line in Class record time. A great mare with a powerful finishing burst, she goes from strength to strength.

Voice Commander Gallant at Sunshine Coast
Voice Commander completed his northern campaign with a very gallant second in the Listed Sunshine Coast Cup over 1400m. Carrying top weight, he jumped and trailed the leaders to the turn. Tye Angland moved him up three wide at the turn where he showed his characteristic fighting qualities to grind down the opposition to hit the lead at the 200m. He was just run down by a swooper in the last bit but beat the rest of the field comfortably. Another very gutsy run. He has now returned to Canberra and if he recovers well from his travelling will probably have more runs in this preparation

Wagga Wagga Wagga
Pray To God, Terrawinda and Swashknuckler completed a very good treble at Wagga. Having her first race strart, Pray To God was very impressive in winning a 1000m Maiden. She jumped and travelled outside the leader to the turn. Soon after straightening she went to the lead and Tim Phillips cuddled her to the 200m where she drew away strongly to go on and win by three lengths in very good time.
Terrawinda broke through to win a 1400m Maiden. She was unable to go the early pace and was towards the rear until the 600m where she started to move up to be just behind the leaders at the turn. She finished very strongly out wide to sweep to the lead in the closing stages to win by a long head giving Taylor Lovelock-Wiggins his first win since returning from a serious fall.
Swashknuckler concluded a great day when he won a Benchmark 60 1000m. Having his second start from a ten month spell he was driven from the barriers by Tim Phillips to take up a position on the rails just behind the leaders. On straightening he was momentarily held up but when the run came he finished powerfully to win by a long neck going away.
