Wagga Wagga Wagga

Pray To God, Terrawinda and Swashknuckler completed a very good treble at Wagga. Having her first race strart, Pray To God was very impressive in winning a 1000m Maiden.  She jumped and travelled outside the leader to the turn.  Soon after straightening she went to the lead and Tim Phillips cuddled her to the 200m where she drew away strongly to go on and win by three lengths in very good time.

Terrawinda broke through to win a 1400m Maiden.  She was unable to go the early pace and was towards the rear until the 600m where she started to move up to be just behind the leaders at the turn.  She finished very strongly out wide to sweep to the lead in the closing stages to win by a long head giving Taylor Lovelock-Wiggins his first win since returning from a serious fall.

Swashknuckler concluded a great day when he won a Benchmark 60 1000m.  Having his second start from a ten month spell he was driven from the barriers by Tim Phillips to take up a position on the rails just behind the leaders.  On straightening he was momentarily held up but when the run came he finished powerfully to win by a long neck going away.
