Another great day of racing at Canberra on Friday the 19th of October with 5 of our 9 runners finishing in the top 3. The two that stood out were Reliant and Maid of Ore who won the Benchmark 65 1400m. We also had good runs From Nobody's Puppet finishing 2nd and Rhyming Puppet and Dreaming of Biscay running nice 3rds.
Reliant made his way back to the winners circle in the Class 1 1200m. He jumped well and ran fast to take the lead by about a length making his way into the turn. He eases away down the straight remaining in the lead the whole way winning by half a lenth. It was a great ride from stable jockey Brendan Ward.
Maid of Ore also had a terrific run in the Benchmark 65 1400m with Jay Ford on board. She jumped from barrier 12 and had to work early to get a seat in second position and move in closer to the fence. Shes was asked to start her forward movement at the turn and had to battle to keep her position but she showed her strength and dug a little deeper to take the lead dashing away winning by just over a length.
