Gironde Breaks Maiden at Canberra

Having his second start, Gironde had a very good win in a 1208m 3YO Maiden at the Canberra Acton Track.  He jumped well and Brendan Ward worked him to the lead.  He kicked on the turn then finished strongly to run out a unchallenged two lengths winner.  A welcome win at a surprisingly good price for his owners.
