Midnight Affair flys home late

Midnight Affair is absolutely flying at the moment, bringing up her third straight win at Goulburn today.

Settling right at the rear of the field, the mare was forced to bide her time as the leaders rolled along at a genuine tempo. There was no early urgency — just a patient ride and a mare travelling comfortably, waiting for her moment.

That moment came on the swing for home.

Peeling to the widest part of the track, Midnight Affair launched into her work. What looked a sizeable task at the 200 metres quickly became a formality. She began reeling them in with every stride, over the final 150 metres, she was airborne — sweeping past the field and putting the race away with a decisive, surging run.
